Respect Campaign

NTEU is launching a new, long-term campaign under the theme Respect that will encompass all efforts at battling the Executive Orders, seeking a fair pay raise, fighting off attacks to theretirement system and demanding good faith bargaining during contract negotiations.

Go to NTEU's Respect Campaign

We are facing unprecedented challenges across federal workplaces. Collectively, the Executive Orders (EOs), a call to freeze federal pay and cut federal retirement benefits, and some agencies’ proposals to gut our contracts show a clear lack of respect for our members and their contributions to public service. It is time to get that Respect back.

Going forward, our efforts will all be centered around Respect. We need to mobilize our members, get non-members to join us, engage the public on the harm these actions will have on providing federal services, and let Congress and the White House know that we will not be bullied, we will not be disrespected, and we will not back down.
NTEU will ramp up its social media presence with Facebook posts and tweets using the hashtag #NTEURespect. I encourage you to share these widely on your social platforms.

A dedicated public page has been launched on the NTEU web site. Members and non-members are invited to visit for news and information along with a direct link to the NTEU Legislative Action Center. This one-stop shop will make it easier for employees to get involved. Visit it at

For those chapters with contracts at the bargaining table or that will open soon, we are preparing specific materials for your use under the theme of Respect My Contract. You will receive a package of lunch and learn materials that includes an invite, talking points and fliers. Additionally, NTEU will provide bargaining update e-mails following negotiation sessions and regular e-mail messages to employees contrasting agency proposals on key subjects with what NTEU is seeking. We will be launching online petitions against specific agency efforts and electronic surveys, as ways to drive engagement among employees.

This is just the start of our efforts to educate and engage all employees that we represent on the very real threats to them and to our union. I am proud to stand alongside each of you as we demand Respect for federal employees and unite to fight the threats.
