At the mid-point of the “brown bag lunch” meeting, we will ask for your input about what issues or topics you would like to discuss or learn about. All of us would like to hear what the hot topics are in your office/facility.  Are there things that the Union could do to make your participation in the Union easier? 

Whether you call in or attend -- there are high quality NTEU staff members available to Union members. Union members have access to speak/meet with our talented and experienced NTEU labor lawyers.  Sarah Riger located in DC (sarah.riger@nteu.org) and Arathi Premkumar located in Colorado (arathi.premkumar@nteu.org) - are available to advise you by phone or in a face-to-face meeting. 

Since we last met, your Chapter 296 leaders have been very busy on your behalf.  We have learned a lot, we have represented your interests in several settings, and we have a lot to report to you on a wide range of issues.  This is true every month. 

On your behalf, the Union has asked when we will see our 2019 pay increase.  We will let you know what we learned.

We recently passed the deadline for applying for the restoration of lost "Use or Lose" leave.  We will share with you what comes next.  Who was approved?  When is the leave restored?

Our special guest speaker is Cathy Ball, Legislative Representative for NTEU.  She will let us know about the legislative issues that the Union is working on; both bills that would be good for Federal employees and those bills that would not be good for Federal employees.  She will also let us know what you can do to weigh in on this legislation without being in violation of the Hatch Act.

We all most likely have some idea on what affect the President's FY 2020 proposed appropriations would have on NPS and its programs.  The President's proposal also includes language that would affect Federal employees in general.  We will highlight some of these proposals including the proposed codification of the President's 2018 Executive Orders directed at labor organizations such as your Union.

There has been a lot of discussion related to NPS senior leadership assignments.  We will let you know what we have learned.

Last Thursday, Union and Management leaders participated in the periodic meeting of the NPS-NTEU Labor Management Relations Committee (LMRC).  A lot of useful information came out of that meeting.  We will share that information with you.  That information includes the establishment of a diversity working group, child care subsidies, and high-level communication between NTEU National President Tony Reardon and the head of the Office of Personnel Management (OPM).

We asked some questions about anonymity and the Employee Viewpoint Survey,  We will let you know what we learned.

On Wednesday April 17th, the Main Interior Building's (MIB's) periodic Customer Communication Forum takes place.  We will share with you what we learn at that meeting.

If there is time, we will provide updates on other topics.  As always, we will provide plenty of time for both 1) your questions and answers and 2) your comments and suggestions.
