Whether you call in or attend -- there are high quality NTEU staff members available to Union members. Union members have access to speak/meet with our talented and experienced NTEU labor lawyers.  Sarah Riger located in DC (sarah.riger@nteu.org) and Arathi Premkumar located in Colorado (arathi.premkumar@nteu.org) - are available to advise you by phone or in a face-to-face meeting. Sarah Riger is planning to attend the meeting. Please give her a warm welcome when you see her.

Since we last met, your Chapter 296 leaders have been very busy on your behalf.  We have learned a lot, we have represented your interests in several settings, and we have a lot to report to you on a wide range of issues.  This is true every month.

We will brief you on the most recent of the periodic meetings between NPS Director David Vela and Chapter 296 President Rudy D'Alessandro.

We will share with you the most recent changes in the Union's leadership as well as what we have heard about upcoming developments in NPS leadership.

Director Vela and the Union care deeply about the health and wellness of NPS employees. Suicide and the stress that can lead to it are significant factors in our collective health and wellness.  Director Vela has recently issued a video about suicide prevention.  You can find it on YouTube at - https://youtu.be/GAO7rOy-DAU   If you haven't done so already, we recommend that you take a look at the video.  In addition, we will share with you what we learned recently about upcoming initiatives to help prevent suicide.

WASO has almost completely finished its transition to Microsoft Office 365.  We are pleased to announce that we have special guest speakers who let us know how the transition is going, what the common problems are, where we can find answers, etc.  Cheryl Little (the Messaging Migration Manager) and Marise Arroyo (of the MIB IT Help Desk) will be at the meeting to make a short presentation and to answer questions.

We will explain what you should look for as a part of your 2020 pay increase.  Also, we will let you know about the Union's legislative priorities for 2021.  We will share with you the connection between pay increases and adequate funding for agencies such as NPS.

We will let you know about the Union's role in office renovations such as the one underway at AOC.  On a parallel note, we will let you know about current plans for the lactation room at the Main Interior Building (MIB) and why/how the Union is involved.

Finally we will update you on a range of training opportunities that the Union is providing in upcoming months.  We will also explain how the Union can help you while you are helping the Union.

If there is time, we will provide updates on other topics.  As always, we will provide plenty of time for both 1) your questions and answers and 2) your comments and suggestions.

All WASO staff members are welcome!  Please join us.  Bring a friend or listen in with one!  Enjoy lunch with your co-workers while you learn the latest news from Chapter 296.
